Common Media Projects/Licensing
From FreeGameDevWiki
Every file has to be accompanied by a text file, containing the license information.
If every file in a folder has the same license information (which can only be guaranteed for user-exclusive folders) one text file describing the license of all the files is enough.
We recommend you to dual-license your art under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5 or any later version and the GPL 2.0 or any later version. You can use any free license (or combinations of them). If you wish to use an alternative license, please ask in our forum.
Including license information
The text file should include at least the following license information:
- Creator name and contact information
- Item (file) name/description
- Editor names and contact information (if submitted file is not the original)
- License name
- A link to the license text
- If the license requires any other text to accompany the files (as does the GPL) this text should also be put in that file.
