A few years ago, I hastily made a little game named “Lazarr!” at the very end of a game jam with 12h left.
It is based on a very silly idea: You're a pirate and must solve laser puzzles. Laser + "Arr!" = Lazarr! ;-)
The very first release 1.0 for the game jam was very rushed, but it almost worked. It had lasers which you could shoot in all 3 dimensions. It had mirrors and detectors. It had crappy 10 levels, and only 1 of them was broken. XD The usability and gameplay experience was jarring to many, and I agreed.
The game ranked poorly in the game jam, unsurpisingly, only 13th. Still, I was very proud I made the game playable at all in such a short time frame.
But I was not done yet. I still felt attached to the idea. I don’t think there are many 3D laser-based puzzle games. And I decided to do what game devs are NOT supposed to do: Become overly attached to an idea.
Since then, I’ve worked hard on reaching the v2.0.0 milestone. The codebase has almost been entirely reworked, all the levels have been replaced. From the original release, not much has remained.

The 2.0.0 release came out on Oct 8, 2025.
Lazarr! 2.0.0 has 116 levels in 6 difficulties, more puzzle elements (beam splitters, crystals, bombs, 7 mixable laser colors, and more), reworked graphics, usability, sounds, more features, a level editor and a "mini main menu" in the form of a pirate ship. Goldie the Parrot follows you on your travels and teaches you the game. Custom level packs are also supported, and one such pack is already online. I already had two people submit 1 level each to me. :-)
Building the levels was much harder than I expected. The code was surprisingly easy for me and straight-forward, but the levels took forever.
Lazarr! is a game for Luanti (https://luanti.org/) and I am proud to present version 2.0.0 after months of hard work. I hope you like it! :-)
