Hiya. Jams are great to have some accountability and also to have your game played by more than 1 person :D It's kinda sad however that none of https://itch.io/jams have open-sourcing the game as a requirement (or at least I have never seen such a jam). Love2d and PygameCE yearly jams have plenty of source-available games submitted (as byproduct of writing in an interpreted language) but usually not opensource due to missing license.
Anyway, I would gladly participate in a jam that would have requirements such as:
- Game must be opensource with license and stuff. Preferably not very difficult to compile
- Game must be made using FOSS
- Game must be desktop-first, web build is optional
