Peter Attract more Windows users? Probably a good thing. ChromeOS? Is there anybody using it!? In contrast we could also build a community of "libre game(s) on libre OS" players :)
poVoq ChromeOS seems to be really popular with schools in the US. I think it is a good target for Linux FOSS games as ChromeOS can run native Linux binaries (AFAIK in an Ubuntu chroot) and in general the system specs are low, so people will be looking for games that are not so resource intensive and ARM compatible.
Technopeasant I mean, you should bear in mind that this place is marketed as a libre game development forum. If you are developing libre games, why would you do it on a non-libre platform? If it was for players of libre games, then it would be less of an issue I think.
poVoq Technopeasant It's both. Developers need testers and that includes testing games on Windows. And in general it is good to keep the entry-barrier for contributions low.
dulsi Some gamers stay on Windows because the game(s) they want to play don't run under Linux. There are plenty of other reasons someone might choose Windows. We should welcome them if they are doing libre games. I think one of the people I follow on mastodon primarily uses Windows although I could be wrong about that.
