Freesound.org finally added a 1-click button for "show only libre sounds and remove all non-libre sounds". It is called "Approved for Free Cultural Works".
I created a little guide:
I have been using Freesound.org for a very long time now for my games, mods and contributions to games and mods. I have no idea how many sounds I downloaded. XD
However, this site allows non-free files (CC BY-NC, CC Sampling+) which are useless for free software projects. Before the update, finding libre sounds was more tedious. I could filter by license but I could only select 1 license at once. If I want a list of all libre sounds for a given search term, I have to awkwardly do two searches: One for CC0, one for CC BY. This was so annoying.
But a while ago, they finally added a new special license filter called "Approved for Free Cultural Works". (See also: https://freedomdefined.org/). Right now, this filter is basically just a synonym for "CC0 or CC BY" because these are the only 2 libre licenses on the site. It's a small change, but this makes finding search for free software nerds likem me so much easier.
I am very happy they added this feature, I have waited years for this.
