I've been recreating old Dragon magazine covers. You can view the results here. Some are more successful than others. It got me wondering what I could use these for. Obviously I'm having fun making them so I don't need to do anything else with them.
I got to thinking about a Magazine Tycoon/Simulator game. You would run a Fantasy/Sci-Fi magazine. Each month you need to get stories and cover art. Every story would have a series of tags on them. Readers would have tags they like and tags they don't. You need to put in stories that interest people without enough things that drive them away. If the cover tags match the stories inside it could attract more attention on the newsstand. You would have rivals that might purchase stories/covers if you don't grab them first. Ideally I was imagining a mad lib type setup for the stories. You would need to read them to decipher what the tags might be. Maybe a lower difficulty might display the tags directly.
