Well, AI picks data from any source it gets fed with. It doesn't care for or protocol the copyright of any of this data. So some AI pictures can be illegal, it is hard to deny or confirm that. So AI generated art is generally problematic from a legal point of view. This is more or less the same for most countries' laws.

I think using AI for NPC behaviour is unproblematic.

Personally, I would describe assets that are (almost) entirely created with generative AI - using nonfree datasets - as having unclear licensing, which would be insufficient for free culture. That, however, does not disqualify a project from being featured on this forum. But I might feel obliged to initiate a deletion review over on LibreGameWiki.

I'm not "derailing" anything. I'm trying to figure out whether this project still qualifies for being listed on LibreGameWiki, and briefly elaborated why the above question is relevant in light of that consideration.
Would you mind giving a clear answer instead of conjuring evasive walls of text?

Did you use AI to generate some of the assets?
If so, was the training data all free culture?

No amount of pride, time and effort turns nonfree culture into free culture.

It's not just LGW where this information matters, by the way. If you were to distribute your game through itch.io, it will ask the same question:

[...] we are strictly enforcing disclosure for all game asset pages due to legal ambiguity around rights associated with Generative AI content.

But since you don't seem willing to answer these questions, I asked an AI image detector. It seems pretty confident that several central assets in the repository are indeed AI-generated. That says nothing about the training data, so I will have to make - what I would call - a reasonable guess, based on your nonanswers.
