Been revamping, updating and adding more sources to an article I actually mostly wrote back in 2010.

The game jam paragraph and notes about itch.io and Game Jolt are all new, and I was finally able to mention this place (which was a fight the first time) after finding a reliable source that mentioned it.

The background section was written by others after my history section was uploaded, which is nice.

Would be cool if you could add two more recent examples: Veloren and Unciv, maybe with screenshots.

FreeGameDev is mentioned in the "Hubs and development teams section". Finding this article was a godsend.

Sadly neither Unciv or Veloren have Wikipedia articles. You could probably try writing them using GamingOnLinux and such to suggest notability, but honestly I usually don't bother picking fights by starting new articles on Wikipedia anymore when I can just do it on the Libregamewiki without hassle.

Also been working on the Linux gaming history section again, which was mostly written by my brother.

Technopeasant Yeah sadly Veloren used to have a English Wikipedia site, but it was purged for lack of notability or such. The German Wikipedia site was recently updated though.

Funny, I was just talking with my brother about how Wikipedia's ironclad rules break down between the different language incarnations.

My general policy is I only edit Wikipedia articles, especially when I already have a reliable source, rather than starting anything new.

I added mention of Veloren and UnCiv in the article with GamingOnLinux citations, among some others that I felt were lacking, provided I had a somewhat reliable source for them.

This paragraph took me all day to research and source, on top of previous research into gaming on niche Unix variants for the Linux gaming article, but I think it is an important aspect of FLOSS games so well worth the effort.

A number of these games and those mentioned earlier and later in this section have even received mainstream press coverage and have helped to establish free gaming as a moderately popular pastime. Most prominently among Linux users and other free Unix-like systems such as BSD, Solaris, and Darwin, but also some Macintosh players and even a few Microsoft Windows gamers. As well, open source games have been made available for Android and iOS mobile devices. Additionally, these games provide options for a variety of alternative and hobbyist systems, including OS/2, BeOS, RISC OS, QNX, MenuetOS, AmigaOS (plus WarpOS), and MorphOS, as well as later implementations such as ArcaOS, ReactOS, Haiku, KolibriOS, Syllable Desktop, AmigaOS 4, and AROS. Particularly prolific is New Breed Software, which offers games for all or most of those systems, as well as vintage computers such as the Atari 8-bit, Atari ST, and Commodore Amiga, several game consoles such as the GP2X, Sega Dreamcast, Sony PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii, handhelds such as the Sony PSP, Nintendo DS and Sharp Zaurus, as well as mobile platforms such as Maemo, SymbianOS and PalmOS.

Technopeasant GP2X is a handheld (I used to own one), but these days there are so many similar handhelds that I am not sure it is worth mentioned an 15+ year old relatively obscure one.

I amended it, but I am only mentioning it in the context of New Breed Software specifically. Certainly if we were going forward the Pandora and especially the Steam Deck are more relevant.
