Does anyone know about a libre gameworld? No matter if intended as TTRPG sourcebook or built into a libre computer game!

Ok. I know similar and dead project for spanish people.

In 2008, some people did Xinik that was a free (creative commons) fictional universe in a wiki. There is only the few content archived in http://web.archive.org/web/20081017210451/http://www.xinik.com/index.php?title=Portada .

Peter I remember that Pepper & Carrot is another fictional universe (open source)...also there were some free software games for android.

Calling a question stupid is not the same as calling a person stupid (aka an insult), but I agree that @Modanung could have phrased it better, i.e. some more details in you original question what you mean with "libre gameworld" would have helped.

Ah, that is not only more polite, it is more helpful for me.

I don't know how to be more precise. I was planning to write my own woeld for TTRPGs and to write games playing in this world. Then I thought "This takes months" so I thought "Hey maybe there's already a gameworld description under a libre license, which is cool for my taste." But now I had an idea how to be even more lazy: By writing my games in an "urban fantasy" setting (like Harry Potter for example) where I simply use the existing world and add some magic and fable creatures.

I actually have my own science fiction universe written up for the Space Rover comedy drama audio series I do with my brothers.

I came across this article last year on libre characters that seems relevant.

There is also Surge the Rabbit from OpenSurge, and OpenArena and XEvil both have some character profiles for their various combatants. As I recall the Parallel Realities actually had a bit of plot.

And of course the classic two lore heavy FLOSS games are Battle for Wesnoth and Vega Strike.

Some more worlds came to my mind: The worlds of the MMORPGs Stendhal and Ryzom (but Ryzom only partially libre afaik).

But I stick to my idea of urban fantasy. I've already started developing. Finally, after lowering my ambitions, I get it going.
